Cody Belanger makes an announcement for 2020

Epping, NH: Cody Belanger released the following statement regarding the 2020 election for State Representative in Rockingham's 9th District:

"I am excited to announce that I will be running for State Representative in this upcoming election.

I have decided to run again because I have always wanted to make a difference. This is one way that I know I can make a difference for everyone. I can’t wait to put together legislation that protects the tax payers, and New Hampshire’s most vulnerable youth.

I take pride in transparency, and honesty, and will hold myself to a higher standard then most in Concord. I am not your average politician, I get annoyed with the way political games are played, and that we are the ones who suffer. I won’t play political games, what I will do, is do what is right.

My wife and I moved to Epping in 2017, and since then we have made Epping our home. We bought our first home here, and I started my business here. Both my business and my home contribute to the tax base, and I strive to make it worth it for the residents of Epping.

I plan to work for the people of Epping, I will not be self serving, that is not in my wheelhouse. That is not the kind of person I am. I’m the kind of person who will stand and fight for the right thing, no matter the cost.

I can’t wait to get to work for the people of Epping. I look forward to speaking with you the residents of Epping and hearing your concerns, and what ways legislatively I can help.”

Epping has two State Representatives, currently occupied by Representative Mark Vallone (D), Epping. And Representative Micahel Vose (R), Epping.

Epping Selectmen Cody Belanger released the following statement welcoming failed Congressional candidate Naomi Andrews to the State Representative Special Election race:

"This past week Democrats put forward former failed congressional candidate Naomi Andrews. A top Democrat operative and former Chief of Staff for failed Congresswomen Carol Shea-Porter who doesn’t have NH’s interests and particularly Epping’s interests at the forefront of her mind. Where has she been?

There have been many issues surrounding Epping’s future, and Naomi has been absent. Someone who hasn’t tweeted since the November Election last year, or someone who has been absent from Epping focusing on her career as a politician.

People like Naomi Andrews give people like me a bad name, those local leaders wanting to actually make a difference because the system failed them.

Naomi has been in DC, where she lives not in Epping. It’s obvious what the Democrats are trying to do, and I will run an honest campaign and will work harder than any other candidate in this election because I believe in a true grassroots campaign.

Ray Buckley and the NH Democrats want to focus on advancing their agenda by purchasing this seat. I’m confident that Epping will see through this nonsense and send someone to Concord who cares about Epping’s values and won’t foist their national agenda upon the voters.

I am the only candidate who has worked in a bipartisan fashion and the Democrats should be afraid. This isn’t about a national agenda, it’s about the people of Epping. And I’m the only candidate who will put aside any party platform and work with the people"

A primary Election date of August 20th, 2019 and a General Election date of October 8th, 2019 has been set for the Rockingham 9th State Representative seat Special Election. Democrat Rep. Mark Vallone currently occupies the other Rockingham 9 State Representative seat in this multi-member district.

Epping Selectman Files Paperwork with Epping Town Clerk, Making Official His Special Election Candidacy for New Hampshire State Representative.

Epping, NH: With election date and candidate filing dates set, Epping Selectman Cody Belanger adds his name to the ballot in the upcoming special election.

"Over the past few weeks, I have spent considerable time talking to friends, family, and most importantly the members of the community about my interest in serving Epping in the New Hampshire House, and I am glad to say that responses that I’ve been getting are great!" Said Belanger.

"It seems that there is a desire to elect a young conservative who cares deeply about the town - someone personally invested in the wellbeing of the community.

Serving Epping on the Board of Selectman and getting involved in local civil service has shed light on the needs of our community. We need a strong voice in Concord who will look out for everyone's best interests.

Some politicians want to go to Concord to advance an agenda, and they often forget the people that elected them.  Not me. I’m a little guy fighting for the little guys. I have been blessed with the opportunity to serve at the municipal level and I know there is more we can do together as your State Representative.

I will ensure that Epping is well represented. Epping's voice will be heard at the Capitol. I look forward to holding town halls, and knocking on doors and continuing the conversation about the local issues that we are facing.”

A General Election date of October 8th, 2019 has been set for the Rockingham 9th State Representative seat Special Election, with a Primary election scheduled for August 20th. Democrat Rep. Mark Vallone currently occupies the other Rockingham 9 State Representative seat in this multi-member district.

Epping Selectman Prepares for Special Election Run

Epping, NH: Selectman Cody Belanger released the following statement regarding the upcoming special election for State Representative in Rockingham's 9th District:

"I am excited to announce that I will be running for the open State Representative seat during this special election.

Today is a special occasion for me, as today marks the 3rd anniversary of my grandfather’s passing and my 25th birthday. I know that he is watching and is proud of the man I have become. This is also the week that our state celebrates the 200th birthday of our State House!

I have decided to run because I have heard the over 300 parents who do not want Competency-Based Education in our schools. I have heard from the residents who are both for - and against - the Natural Gas Storage tank. It is not just about the behemoth project andthe tax benefits it can bring to Epping,  it’s about hearing the concerns of folks on both sides of the issuse. And lastly, as one of your Selectmen I know first-hand the issues that are forthcoming with our water and sewer systems. I will work to bridge the divide between state and local officials on these matters.

For me, this isn’t Republicans versus Democrats. It’s about what can I do best for Epping. Over the next coming months as we near the upcoming election I will be holding town halls, and Facebook live chats to discuss the issues and concerns of the people in Epping and If elected, I can promise you this. I will not vote for an income tax. Not Now. Not Ever."

With the recent resignation of Republican State Representative Sean Morrison, a special election is expected to take place in late summer or early fall to fill the vacant seat in the dual-member State House District. Democrat Mark Vallone currently occupies the other Rockingham 9 State Representative seat.
